Preparing for Cosmetic Surgery

Before you decide to undergo cosmetic surgery, you will need to choose a reputable plastic surgeon. Your plastic surgeon will ultimately be responsible for your safety, so you should choose a cosmetic surgeon that you feel completely comfortable with before scheduling your cosmetic surgery procedure.

The Cosmetic Surgery Pre-Surgical Consultation
During your cosmetic surgery pre-surgical consultation, your plastic surgeon will evaluate you, and determine whether or not you are a good candidate for cosmetic surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon will also discuss your plastic surgery procedure with you and make sure you have realistic expectations. If, for any reason, the plastic surgeon believes that you are not a suitable candidate for cosmetic surgery, he or she can explain the reasons why, and discuss alternative plastic surgery options.

Pre-Cosmetic Surgery Instructions
When both you and your cosmetic surgeon are prepared to go ahead with the surgery, you will be given pre-cosmetic surgery instructions explaining what you need to do before cosmetic surgery. These “before cosmetic surgery instructions” should be followed to the letter in order to reduce your risk of cosmetic surgery complications, and to promote a rapid recovery from your cosmetic surgery procedure. If you do not follow your pre-cosmetic surgery instructions, your plastic surgery procedure may be delayed.
